Get a Tree to Plant at Home through Tree For Me!

March 28, 2018
It's that time of year again! We're gearing up for another exciting round of Spring Tree For Me Community Events in neighbourhoods across Toronto!

Tree For Me is Toronto's community-powered backyard tree planting program. A community-based partnership, Tree For Me makes it easy for Toronto residents to get no-cost native trees for their yards. Through facillitated grants provided by Toronto Parks and Trees Foundation, events are held across the city in support of the Every Tree Counts movement, a partnership between Toronto Parks and Trees Foundation and the City of Toronto to reach 40% tree cover in Toronto. Tree For Me events help put more trees in our yards, more trees in our communities, and more trees in our city.

With Tree For Me, not only will you be able to collect a no-cost tree for your property, you'll learn the skills you need to plant and care for your tree properly!

It's easy: start by taking a short tree matching quiz at treeforme.ca to make sure you get the right tree for the right location in your yard. Starting Sunday April 1st, 2018, register for a community event near you at www.treeforme.ca/plantAttend your event, learn about tree planting and tree care, take home your new tree and get planting!

*please note: at this time, only residents of the City of Toronto are eligible to receive trees through Tree For Me.

(If planting your own tree is not the best option for you, the City of Toronto also has a great tree planting service available for front yard trees where a property owner can submit a tree planting request for the City-owned road allowance in front of their home or business. For more details on the program, visit the City of Toronto website.)
